In the depths of lockdown we were approached to design and build 550 4-6 seater outdoor pods for a prominent drinks brand.

Working closly with the client we worked to a budget to design, render and test the initial prototype for sign off.

With a brief of needing to be within budget, transported and erected with ease and to provide covid safe outdoor additional seating.

We set about with a rigid steel base frame allowing the pods to be installed on sometimes uneven, unprepared ground whilst allowing the double clad wall pannels to be bolted firmly to the base to ease erection.

With a edpm rubber roof that dropped over and encapsulated the wiring loom for the lights and heater.

Wooden benches helped brace the walls and hid the ballast, a branded table slotted in with a nice little touch of engraving the companies logo.

At the height of production we had over 20 staff working on a production line to meet the delivery schedule.

In total we used over 4000 sheets of ply. We literally used the nations allocation of 10 x 5 9mm BB birch. All CNC’d, all painted and all with a framework using over 28km of timber!

A great job supporting both our industry but also the Pubs and landlords around the country.

They are still in existence and 3 years later are still doing their job!
